Pose-corrected face processing on video sequences for webcam-based remote biometric authentication

چکیده
In this paper we describe a framework aimed to perform face-based biometric user authentication for web-resources through client-server secured sessions. A novel front-end for face video sequences processing is developed in which face detection and shot selection is performed at client-side while statistical multi-shot pose-corrected face verification is performed at server-side. We explain all the image processing steps, from the acquisition to the decision, paying special attention to a PDM-based pose correction subsystem and a GMM-based sequence decision test. The pose correction relies on projecting a face-shape mesh onto the set of PDM eigenvectors and back-projecting it after changing the coefficients associated to pose variation. The aligned and discriminatively selected texture features form the observation vectors ready to be pluged into a GMM based likelihood ratio for statistical decision. A Video-Based Biometric Authentication for e-Learning Web Applications
In the last years there was an exponential growth in the offering of Web-enabled distance courses and in the number of enrolments in corporate and higher education using this modality. However, the lack of efficient mechanisms that assures user authentication in this sort of environment, in the system login as well as throughout his session, has been pointed out as a serious deficiency. Some st...
متن کاملFace on the Fly: How to Track Faces
A great challenge for border-control gates is to maintain good biometric performances, even with less cooperative subjects. We present here a novel method to simultaneously track and estimate the 3D head pose of people walking in an authentication gate (Fig. 1), from video sequences acquired by a multi-view system. A 3D head model is adapted to each individual at the beginning of the sequence a...

In wireless communications, significant information are getting exchanged frequently. Inorder to avoid the illegal access of that sensitive information remote authentication is being done extensively. Remote authentication involves the submission of encrypted information, along with visual and audio cues. Incase of remote examination or interviewing, Trojan Horse and other attacks can cause sev...
متن کاملFingerprint Authentication System using a low-priced Webcam
A number of biometric techniques have been proposed for personal identification in the past. Among the vision-based ones, we can point out fingerprint, face, palm, ear, iris and retina recognition. Voice recognition or signature verification are the most widely known among the non-vision based ones. Signature verification requires the use of electronic tablets or digitizers for on-line capturin...
متن کاملRobust Face Recognition and Tagging in Visual Surveillance System
Face recognition is one of the most successful applications in the field of image processing. Most robust face methods are difficult to improve their performance under certain environments. The paper proposes a method for robust face recognition and implementing a tagging process in video surveillance. It provides an interface for communicating with camera or webcam capturing images storing and...
